'How Can I Possibly Help?' Relief Society Sisters Show Their Love Daily After a Family's Tragic Accident

When Jen, a mother of four children, was hit by a car going 60 miles per hour her, life was changed forever.

As a result, her mobility was limited, and Jen found it was a struggle to do the things she once could. 

But when the Relief Society sisters in her stake began doing whatever they could to help Jen and her family, their lives were changed as they served in Christlike ways.

Like most of us, Lorianne Updike Toler is much more comfortable with the role of a giver than a receiver. But as the victim of a rare auto-immune disorder, she has spent much of the past 30 years on the receiving end of compassionate service. Her experience with asking for and accepting help has taught her that some of our most significant spiritual progress can come as we allow ourselves to experience the other side of charity.
