This is the dad I raised. :)

He is my oldest son and is Benton and Bailie's (pictured here at Bailie's blessing) daddy. Like most dads he works hard and plays hard all for the love of his family.

My daddy passed away on his wedding anniversary, in 1977, just before I turned 21 years old. This is my favorite picture of him. He loved his life, his family, and Christmas. We moved several times as I was growing up, and, when looking for a home each time, while my mother was measuring to make sure there was room for our huge refrigerator, Daddy would be deciding the best place for the Christmas tree. When my birthday falls on a Sunday, it is also Father's Day. I love that!

I love this photo of my dad helping to get my sister ready for church. It epitomizes him as a father: strong but tender to his children, and busy but never too busy for us. Although my dad has always been frequently engaged at work or church, he loves his family more than anything. We've never doubted it.

Father: Andrew "H" Gibbons

My Dad served two times in the army. His unit had just crossed the Rhine into German when WW1 ended. He is in the center of the second row from the top. I think it was taken in the early 1920s.

He was born in 1898. I was born in 1946 when he was 48 years old. He was a wonderful example and a good man. Holding a child or a grandchild often moved him to tears. I became a teacher because both he and my mother were teachers.

All his friends in his later life called him "H."

This is my favorite photo of my dad because I think it typifies our relationship perfectly. Our senses of humor are very similar, and I know that whenever I find something funny, I can catch his eye from across the room and we can share a knowing look.

What I love most about my dad is that there is nothing more important to him in this world than his wife and seven children.

He is Superman and MacGyver rolled into one perfect package, but even though he can do anything, we love him most because he wants to do everything for us.

We love you, Monte.

My dad was a fantastic father.

He and my mom always had the concern and love for their children. He was a hard worker - honest, caring, and very helpful to others.

I was always so proud to be with him.  He taught me how to drive, work, care for others, have respect for others, and to remember who I was and what goals I should have. I loved my Dad so much.  It really hurt to lose him but, knowing the Gospel, I was happy to now share him with a sister who had passed on so many years ago.

He had the darkest big brown eyes that just sparkled when he smiled. We had a lot of fun as a family at home and on camping trips, rides around Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming and other Western States. He taught me how to swim, ice skate, ride a bike, and always believed in me.

Thanks for asking about my Dad.

Our dad is remarkable. He’s always up for an adventure, like riding a motorcycle or going on a tour of Europe. He even kept going after falling down a flight of stairs and breaking his neck when he was 88 years old! He will be 90 this fall, and all his posterity think he’s the best.

Danny is a super FUN dad -- he taught these boys to play baseball and football when they were only one year old! He is the best!

This is my husband as an hours-old dad. I love his reverent and slightly astounded expression. He fell head over heels for our son immediately – he was thrilled to finally be a dad – and you can just see it in his face. Though we have taken hundreds of photos of him and our son over the last year, this remains my favorite.

This is my son Sean with his first child, Carter.  His love has even increased more than this photo reveals if that is possible.  My son is an archeologist and takes Carter to look for fossils, frogs, anything in nature. Carter already has a wonderful bug collection and he is only 6 yrs old.  This is my all time favorite photo.

Father: Jeff Adler
Idaho

This photo was taken just before Father’s Day, 2006, when we moved our cattle to the mountains for the summer in Malad, Idaho. Our Dad is Jeff Alder. He is the father to Adam (not pictured), Ashlee, Logan, and JeniAnn. Our dad is the hardest working cattle rancher you will ever meet, we love him because he spends hours every day with us, teaching us to work, to be the best we can be,  and above all that family is the biggest blessing you can ever have.

Just two months after this picture was taken, Ashlee died in an accident. We will forever be grateful for all the time we spent with Dad growing up and for the fact that he works hard every day to make sure that we will be a family for eternity.

This is my son-in-law carrying his daughters Niobe and Charlee. Wax, as he is fondly called, loves my eldest daughter Hannah so much; he has done everything to make life easy for her. I love my son-in-law. Hope he never stops loving my daughter and our family.

Hailey Ross
Michigan
Fathers: Todd, Rod, and Tim

This is a photo of 3 important men on my life.

The father in white is my uncle Todd who was killed in a car accident December 2011 along with my aunt Jennifer and our 8 year old cousin Will. Todd was always a hard working man who who put family above all else. He had those harsh, rough callused hands of a carpenter, like our Savior, because he did construction work.

My Father, Rod, in black, had to go to Southern Indiana to get custody of my 15-year-old cousin Kristena, who was the only survivor of the accident and suffered a broken back. We spent Christmas in the hospital while Kristena had surgery. My dad is an Elder in the priesthood and to see it in action during this time was a testimony building experience. My dad is a manager at a hotel and works the midnight shift, so he sleeps during the day, but tries to do fun things with my two brothers and I whenever he can.

The third is my uncle Tim. We have always been a close family, but since the accident, Tim has been around even more to spend time with those he cares most about.

I love these men.

This is the "Dad" I met, fell in love with and married 3 1/2 years ago. After losing his wife of 30 years to an illness, he continued and continues to be an amazing father, not only to his biological children but also to my children (this is him having leg wars with my youngest) and an amazing grandfather to our grandchildren.

What I love about him – EVERYTHING – but mostly that he has taken the time to learn what is important to me and then makes it a priority to be sure that I have that in my life.

Sherri Thompson

Father: Glenn Shields (Kansas)

My mom recently died and I have heard so many stories. What I love most about him is how much he loved my mother and all the things he did for her throughout their life together and how much he did for her during the final months of her life. He is an awesome example of what it means to love your spouse.

7376

Rhodora de los Reyes Aracena
Philippines
Father: Conrado Masongsong de los Reyes

My father, a public school superintendent, was literally from rags to a self-made man. He was so hardworking, having 3 jobs at the same time to raise 8 children and put them all to school and have them all graduate through college. He died of old age in 2005 at 91 years old.

7377

Joslyn Cook
Utah
Father: Bill Cook

I love my dad's sense of humor. He can be so goofy sometimes, and sometimes it's a quick and very clever comment that makes us all laugh. He's never loud or ostentatious, and never needs to be the center of attention, but he can be a lot of fun. This picture is from the early seventies, shortly before he married my mother.

Something I love about my dad: I love that my dad takes my sisters and me fishing. He is so patient to help us bait our hooks, cast our lines, and reel in our fish. He rarely catches a fish because he is so busy helping us!

Rhodora de los Reyes Aracena

Father pictured: James Lapido Aracena

This is my husband carrying his granddaughters Niobe and Charlee in both arms. My beloved husband James is hardworking just like  my father was. A very supportive husband and father, a literal patriarch of the family and of the Makati Philippines Stake.

Jason Birch
Idaho
Father: Scott Yates (step-dad)

My Dad, Scott, really lifts me up! My favorite place to be is working with him in (or on) the shop, or working with him in the trucks!

Sara Baker
Utah
Father: John Crook

I am the very proud wife, daughter, sister, and sister-in-law of retired, reserve, and active duty Marines. My dad, retired USMC Colonel John Crook, is now a pilot for United Airlines and lives in Colorado. This photo was taken on one of his multiple tours of duty to Iraq. Semper Fi! and Happy Father's Day.

7344

Julie Humphrys
Father: Fred Humphreys

This is Fred Humphreys, age 83, with his great grandaughter, Avery Lynn Timmerman born June 6th. He is a very tender dad as you can tell.

7348

Patsy O'Hara Dick
Davenport, Florida
Father: Patrick Joseph O'Hara III

My Dad is valiant in all he sets his sights on doing or being. As a veteran, he continues to honor those who have served our country. Through years of service in the VFW he has held almost every office available, now currently as a Chaplain.

As a father, he valiantly awaited the day when I would understand all those things he taught me. He continues to wait and I know he will always do so for as long as he shall be able to.

He is the horizon that I continually seek for, he is the confetti in my life's celebration. He is truly a gift from God, and I love him more and more as I understand this man who will always be valiant in what he does.
