I’m pretty sure trunk-or-treating was invented by Mormon moms. I could be wrong, but it just seems like a very LDS-culture thing to do--gathering Primary children and relief society moms in the church parking lot for some clean, holiday fun. Some people love it: it’s fast, easy, and safe. But others, not so much: what happened to the good old days?
I personally think trick-or-treating is more fun running from house to house, but I can totally see why others like the new trend, especially if Halloween falls on a Sunday like it did last year (read about the Halloween on the Sabbath debate here).
