“Why We Believe,” New Unofficial Mormon Website Launches!

On October 31st, 2009 ten young single adult Mormons came together at the Boston Singles’ LDS Education Conference with one hour to form an idea for an innovative way to share the gospel. Speakers at the Conference included David Neeleman, co-founder of The More Good Foundation and Mormon entrepreneur (former CEO of JetBlue Airways), Clayton Christensen (Harvard professor and innovation specialist, Mormon convert), and Elder M. Russell Ballard (one of the 12 apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).

Elder Ballard’s remarks to the Boston single adult audience included a bold invitation that every one in attendance “should have [their] testimonies written on Facebook.” Melissa Sevy, one of the group organizers, remarked, “With his words ringing in our ears, we formulated an idea and found a way to make this possible.”
