Some members might feel relieved to be released from a Church calling after decades of service. But for Sister Julia Larson in Coloma, Calif., who, since the age of 16, has served as a music leader for sacrament, Sunday school, Relief Society, Primary and other meetings, such an idea makes her shudder. After all — she's "only 89 years old" — and is still serving, currently as her ward's sacrament meeting music director.
From time to time, the Church News writes about members who are at least 80 years of age who still serve in ward or stake callings.
