A stake in Houston puts together community drill

With the official start of the hurricane season, emergency preparations have gone into high gear on the Gulf coast. Though emergencies and disasters can take many forms, the major consideration this time of year is the potential for high winds, torrential rains, flooding and hurricanes.

Church Members in the Houston, Texas, area and community friends recently staged an emergency communications drill. The purpose of the drill was to improve wireless ham radio communication capabilities that can become vital as normal communications are sometimes interrupted in an emergency situation.
