BYU fires men's volleyball coach

BYU has fired men's volleyball coach Shawn Patchell.

Athletic director Tom Holmoe said in a statement Wednesday that Patchell's dismissal is effective immediately. Holmoe said BYU is investigating possible NCAA violations in the program, but would not elaborate.

BYU assistant Rob Neilson will serve as interim coach.
