BYU takes 4th at national racquetball championships

The 2011 BYU men’s racquetball team, winner of a few national titles in the ’90s, took the national spotlight again with a fourth-place finish at the USA Racquetball National Intercollegiate Championship, held this past week at Arizona State University.

Out of 43 schools represented at nationals, the men’s team’s fourth-place finish was among the best considering the top three finishers all recruit and offer scholarships to their racquetball athletes.

“Colorado State of Pueblo, Alabama and Oregon State have a lot of support from their schools,” said Jeff Skanchy, senior captain for BYU men’s team. “We were excited to take fourth because we were able to hang right along [with the best].”
