Being An Example

I recently had an experience that taught me that our choices not only affect our lives but can have far-reaching effects on people we have never even met. A few months ago, I was contacted by a prestigious orchestra. They invited me to perform a series of concerts with them, one of which was on a Sunday. I explained that although I do perform on Sunday for various religious meetings, I try not to perform at commercial ticketed events on the Sabbath. I was worried that the orchestra would choose not to work with me at all because of my response, but they were supportive of my position and decided to still have me perform with them on the other concerts that weekend. A month later, I received this e-mail:

Dear Jenny,

My name is Britney. I too am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I'm on my grade 5 violin. I live in South Africa. I am 9 years old. I wanted to write you this e-mail as a result of an experience I had during this past week. Here is the story that helped me gain more faith in Jesus Christ.
