Calling All Cooks: LDS Living's Pumpkin Recipe Contest

Pumpkin is a staple in fall recipes. The colossal amount of pumpkin pie ingested at Thanksgiving dinners alone is evidence of that! So to prepare for the cooler weather and the fun holidays, we at LDS Living are determined to find the greatest PUMPKIN recipe there is! From pumpkin curry soup to pumpkin ravioli to pumpkin cookies, the possibilities are endless, and we're excited to see what LDS Living readers have to contribute.

Does your pumpkin recipe have what it takes to stand up to hundreds of others? Whether you grow your own pumpkins in your backyard or have a recipe that's been passed down for generations, we want your recipe! It will stand in the LDS Living Recipe Hall of Fame, next to ones such as the White Chicken Chili and Lemon Crinkle Cookie.

Here are the rules (you must abide by each for your recipe to be considered):

1) Recipes must be original. Renaming other recipes simply won’t do; we’re looking for your best recipes. Family recipes are great, and if you’ve improved on a commercial recipe until it’s totally your own, then that’s okay too.

2) Recipes must include pumpkin in some way, shape, or form. Be creative! If we end up with 50 recipes for only pumpkin pie, then let’s be honest—you'll have a tough time standing out from the rest. What about pumpkin muffins? Pumpkin frosting on a cinnamon cupcake? Even pumpkin soup! Think outside the box. Remember, creativity is rewarded!

3) Submit the recipe with your full name, e-mail address, home city and state, and a valid daytime phone number by Monday, October 26, 2015. (LDS Living will only use this information to get a hold of you in the event that you win; we will not use it for marketing or other purposes.)

If you have a photo of your pumpkin dish, please submit it, but photos are not required.

E-mail recipes to editor@ldsliving.com

We will be testing and ranking the recipes after we receive them. The top recipe will get a $100 Deseret Book gift card, and all winners will be featured along with the runners-up in a future issue of LDS Living magazine!

*By submitting your recipe, you are giving LDS Living the right to publish it on our website and/or in our magazine.
