Chicken Fajita Recipe with Food Storage

You don't have to worry about flavor when you use food storage ingredients - with freeze-dried ingreidents and other staples, you'll still get the delicious flavors of chicken, peppers, and onions you love in traditional fajitas. We venture a prediciotn that these will become a food storage favorite you'll want to make regularly for your family. 

Ingredients 

2 tablespoons clarified butter 
3 cups freeze-dried chicken
1 cup freeze-dried mushrooms
1/2 cup freeze-dried green bell peppers
1/4 cup freeze-dried onions+
3 tablespoons taco seasoning 
1/2 cup water (reserve from chicken) 
homemade flour tortillas 
freeze-dried shredded sharp cheddar cheese+ (optional) 
sour cream (optional) 
mango apricot salsa (optional) 

+Reconstitute before using. Follow directions on #10 can to reconstitute. 

Directions
1. Saute rehydrated mushrooms, peppers and onions in clarified butter for 3-5 minutes.

2. Add chicken and saute for an additional 2-3 minutes.

3. Mix taco seasoning with 1/2 reserve water. Add to pan and heat through. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until sauce thickens a little bit.

4. Serve on tortillas and top with cheese, sour cream and salsa.
