The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the curriculum that Church members of all ages will be studying in 2017.
These inspired topics and manuals will bring members closer to the Savior as they learn more about Church history and the teachings of prophets of God.
The Primary theme for 2017 sharing time will be "Choose the Right." (You can access lessons here). Teaching manuals for the Primary in 2017 will be: Nursery, Behold Your Little Ones: Nursery Manual; Sunbeams, Primary 1: I Am a Child of God; CTR 4, 5, 6, and 7, Primary 3: Choose the Right B; and Valiant 8, 9, 10, and 11, Primary 5: Doctrine and Covenants and Church History.
Young Men and Young Women
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
In the spring of 1820, Joseph Smith read this scripture that changed his life and prompted him to enter the Sacred Grove to pray. Young men and young women across the Church will be studying this scripture from James 1:5-6 as their Mutual theme.
This theme will influence many of the Mutual activities for this year, and resources will be available later in 2016 for youth leaders to incorporate this theme into their teaching.
Teachers will be following Come, Follow Me: Learning Resources for Youth to instruct Aaronic Priesthood and Young Women classes.
For Sunday School in 2017, brothers and sisters will study the Doctrine and Covenants. Teachers can access the new manual, Doctrine and Covenants and Church History: Gospel Doctrine Teacher’s Manual, at LDS.org. Also available are a class study guide and a brief history of the Church.
Melchizedek Priesthood and Relief Society
This year during Priesthood and Relief Society, men and women across the Church will be inspired by the inspired teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley, who served as a prophet for over a decade. Teachers can access the new manual, Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Gordon B. Hinckley, at LDS.org.
