Church Calls 35 New Stake Presidents in June

From the presidencies of three new stakes created in Tennessee, New Zealand, and Nigeria to those in the 32 stakes that were reorganized, learn more about the new stake presidents called in June:

A new stake has been created from the Madison Tennessee and McMinnville Tennessee stakes. The Cookeville Tennesse Stake, which consists of the Lebanon 2nd, Livingston and the Sparta branches and the Burgess Falls, Cookeville, Crossville, Jamestown and the Lebanon 1st wards, was created by Elder Erich W. Kopischke, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Alvin F. Meredith III, an Area Seventy.

COOKEVILLE TENNESSEE STAKE (May 1, 2016): President—David Owen Day, 58, self-employed; wife, Vicki Temple Butler Day. Counselors—Derek Merle Heap, 43, managing partner, Sterling Financial Group; wife, Jodi Lyn Sommer Heap. Spencer Lawrence Miller Grissom, 34, satellite technician, AT&T/Directv; wife, Laura Denell Grissom.

A new stake has been created from the Dunedin New Zealand District. The Dunedin New Zealand Stake, which consists of the Gore, Invercargil, Queenstown, and Timaru branches and the Dunedin 1st, Dunedin 2nd, Oamaru 1st, and Omaru 2nd wards, was created by Elder Kevin W. Pearson, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder David J. Thomson, an Area Seventy.

DUNEDIN NEW ZEALAND STAKE (April 17, 2016): President—Stephen Eliot Smith, 41, professor of law; wife, Kimberly Stone Smith. Counselors—Rangi Takuku Solomon, 50, HSE manager; wife, Justine Marie Gillard. Justin Koloi Kaufana, 40, butcher; wife, Lativia Fatai Tuaone Kaufana.

A new stake has been created from the Ibesikpo Nigeria District. The Ikot Eyo Nigeria Stake, which consists of the Ikot Akpan Abia, Ikot Ebre, Ikot Esen, Ikot Oku Lyan, Ikot Udofia, and Ndikp Atang branches and the Ikot Ekwere, Ikot Eyo 1st, Ikot Eyo 2nd, and Ikot 3rd wards, was created by Elder LeGrand R. Curtis Jr., a General Authority Seventy, and Elder J.K. Chukwuemeka Igwe, an Area Seventy.

IKOT EYO NIGERIA STAKE (May 1, 2016): President—Solomon Samuel Johnny, 33, president, Independent Newspaper Publisher Association; wife, Ima Abasi Solomon Johnny. Counselors—Edet Sam Edet, 39, self-employed; wife, Blessing John Thompson Akpadiaha. Eíukudoh Tom Akpadiaha, 42, self-employed; wife, Mary Eíukudoh Akpadiaha.
