Color of light poles last issue to arise around Mormon chapel in AZ

A North Valley leader described the white light poles at a Mormon chapel, which is under construction, as "terrible" because white does not blend in with the area.

Ron Jerich made his comment at Wednesday night's meeting of the Anthem Community Council board of directors. His remarks relate to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' chapel project at Anthem Way and Daisy Mountain Drive.

"As far as light poles, they look terrible," said Jerich, a member of the council. "I certainly hope the LDS church takes it upon themselves either to remove them or paint them brown or bronze. No white light poles in Anthem for anybody. The white has got to go."
