Commission finally approves plans for Connecticut Temple

The planning and zoning commission unanimously approved a plan to construct a 35,000-square-foot Mormon temple at a meeting Tuesday night despite several residents' concerns that it would further clog the already congested Route 4. The plan now goes to the town council.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced plans earlier this year to place the state's first Mormon temple on an 11-acre parcel at the corner of Melrose Drive and Route 4.
