Cougs rise to No. 16 in both polls

Either coaches and media members who vote in college basketball polls have short memories, or they were impressed by BYU’s wins over Weber State and UTEP last week.

The Cougars (12-1) jumped seven spots in both the Associated Press Top 25 poll and the ESPN/USA Today college basketball rankings on Monday, landing at No. 16 in both surveys.

BYU has now been ranked in the AP Top 25 for 19 straight weeks, the second-longest such streak in school history.
