Defendant rejects plea deal in killing of BYU professor

A Vernal man accused of killing retired Brigham Young University professor Kay Mortensen has rejected a plea deal that would have ended the state’s efforts to execute him.

"I’d like to go to trial, sir," Martin Cameron Bond told 4th District Judge Thomas Low on Tuesday.
