The large numbers of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who volunteered for area reading programs last spring got a compliment from Sally Carter this week. Carter is a co-director of the Volunteer Engagement Center at United Way of Northern Utah.
She said the LDS Church’s efforts to recruit tutors for area volunteer reading programs made a phenomenal difference in the success of the pilot program last spring and stands to make a similar difference as the program goes forward.
