Elder Neil L. Andersen looked ready to suit up for BYU on Saturday night.

During a first-quarter timeout in the Cougars' 45-38 win over East Carolina, Elder Andersen, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was presented with a player-signed BYU helmet. Elder Andersen, who typically is seen wearing glasses, had taken them off before the presentation.

It soon became clear why.

Upon receiving the helmet from BYU Advancement Vice President Matthew Richardson, Elder Andersen — himself a BYU graduate — immediately put on the headgear, eliciting a rousing cheer from the Cougar crowd and a big smile from Richardson.
