Church maintains previous teachings on marriage

FamilySearch, a database used to document genealogy, announced Family Tree will now allow users to record same-sex family relationships, including same-sex marriages and same-sex adoptions.

The change in the Family Tree application does not alter the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on marriage. Marriage sealings will only be performed between people of the opposite sex.

Church Newsroom released a list of questions and answers in conjunction with the news release
