The First Presidency announced on Thursday that the rededication of the Houston Texas Temple will take place Sunday, April 22, 2018.

In 2017, the temple was damaged by flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, which left behind a record rainfall of 52 inches.

The floods reached the temple on August 26 and damaged the temple annex, temple basement, and the main floor, according to Mormon Newsroom. The temple was closed Oct. 24 for repairs.
