Dalby’s Land and Leaders of Israel: Lessons in the Old Testament (Salt Lake City: Church Department of Education, 1930), a seminary textbook in use in the 1930s and ‘40s,uses the book of Jeremiah to teach the same lesson – but instead of focusing on the prophet himself, Dalby emphasizes the heroism of the Ethiopian slave who saved Jeremiah’s life
