Travis Paul Wood

Travis grew up in Wellsville, Utah. His love of art was fostered in his youth; he won an art competition in 5th grade with a sculpture of oil-based clay, and he continued to study in high school in AP Art. After serving a mission to Mexico, Travis enrolled in BYU Idaho with an emphasis in photography while also exploring an interest in architecture. He currently focuses on oils. He lives and works in Salt Lake City.

Linda Curley Christensen

Linda was born in Idaho, reared in Salt Lake City, Utah, and started painting when her family was young. She has received substantial attention in recent years afer painting for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at their Conference Center, South Visitor’s Center, and temples throughout the world, as well as heading a mural team. Recognitions include the National Gertrude Folgeson Art Award, signature status in Oil Painters of America, and being named one of Utah’s top 100 Artists. Linda believes familiar scenes and people around us all the time are waiting for the right moment, the right light to illuminate their beauty, thus giving a rare glimpse of their soul.

Jonathan Linton

Jonathan Linton’s artwork has won numerous awards and hangs in national and international collections. Jonathan has also illustrated three children’s books, two of which landed on national bestseller lists: The Spyglass - New York Times and The Dance - Publisher’s Weekly. Jonathan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Brigham Young University and continued his studies in New York City and Florence, Italy. Jonathan and his wife have four children and live in the Washington DC area.

Austin Texas Mid-Singles Conference
October 26-28

The past 7 years of this event are nothing compared to this year! The Mystery unfolds as the guests arrive at a Friday Night house party. The Saturday morning devotional with Kevin Hinckley is sure to be smooth sailing, but something inexplicable happens at the Service Project, and can only be solved at the Reunion Ranch Detective Mystery Dinner on Saturday Night. Then we will cheerfully gather for our annual MSA sacrament service with President Beckstead, of the San Antonio Temple Presidency; lunch will follow.

Saints and Sinners Half Marathon

Church members in the Las Vegas area are organizing the first annual LDS Saints and Sinners Half Marathon to take place this October and would love it if you would add it to your event calendar. They are doing this with the purpose of bringing LDS runners together for a fun weekend activity. The event is a complete volunteer-run event so that the proceeds can benefit missionaries. Hispanic Celebration
This spectacular cultural celebration has become a treasured tradition at the Visitors’ Center. The program will include professional entertainers, musicians, and dance troops representing cultures of Latin American countries. All ages will enjoy the festive atmosphere and colorful costumes.

*TICKETS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE HISPANIC HERITAGE CELEBRATION. TICKETS ARE FREE AND WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT THE VISITORS’ CENTER BEGINNING 90 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE PERFORMANCE.*

United States Army Band Trumpet Ensemble for Veteran's Day
The Washington DC Temple Visitors’ Center is pleased to commemorate Veterans Day with a performance by the United States Army Band Trumpet Ensemble. The U.S. Army Band – “Pershing’s Own” – created the Trumpet Ensemble in 2009, and this group of eight accomplished musicians has quickly garnered an international following, performing in Germany, Australia as well as numerous concerts and recitals in the Washington DC area. In honor of Veterans Day, the Ensemble’s concert will feature patriotic music.
