LDS golfer Tony Finau made national headlines this year after getting a hole-in-one at the Masters and dislocating his ankle in the celebration. Finau finished 10th in the Masters and has continued to make headlines as he competed in the U.S. Open this past weekend.

Tony Finau’s double bogey on the final hole of the U.S. Open proved very costly.

How costly? Roughly $214,372.

Finau started the final hole at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club tied for third place with Dustin Johnson. That tie would have been worth $683,832 to each golfer. But after Finau got into trouble off the tee, his 6 on the par-4 dropped him to fifth place, where he “settled” for $469,460.
