LDS youths of this generation keep surprising me

To be perfectly honest, there are times when I am really worried about the youths of today. I watch them spend endless hours on Facebook, texting, video games and their cell phones. I can't help but wonder how this is all going to play out. Where are they going to find the character, moral fiber or coping skills to make the tough decisions they will be faced with, or to get through a difficult marriage or hard financial times?

Right about the time I feel like I am losing faith in the future of this next generation, I meet a handful of youths who blow me away. In fact, these youths are not typical in any way; their maturity is far beyond their years.

I know there are examples in your area, and frankly I would love to hear about them, but here are just a few that I have encountered.

A few years ago, I met an amazing group of girls in Boise, Idaho, who had just attended girls camp. Upon arriving, they immediately took a tour of the campground and of course were most interested in checking out their bathroom facilities. They located the bathroom, opened the door, and quickly noticed through the stench and filth that whoever was there before had made a disgusting mess; smearing it all over the walls, floor, and toilet seats, etc.
