When John K. O'Connor was charged with murder after allegedly entering a chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a gun and shooting Charles "Bert" Miller at close range, the judge approved a mental competency evaluation to see if O'Connor was fit to stand trial. Fox 11 reported the following on Tuesday, September 4:

Judge Thomas Stockard ruled that O'Connor is not competent to stand trial on Tuesday, September 4.

According to the charges, O'Connor, 48, shot and killed Charles "Bert" Miller on July 22 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fallon. . . .

Dr. John Moulton and Dr. Zuchowski testified in court Tuesday about the evaluations they used to determine O'Connor was not competent.
