When film composer Hans Zimmer (known for his work on Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, and The Lion King) decided to create a new album that re-imagines some of his most iconic work, he recruited a few Mormon musicians and YouTube sensations to do it.

Lindsey Stirling created a song based on Hans Zimmer's theme from The Dark Knight Rises and The Piano Guys created a song based on Hans Zimmer's music from Pirates of the Caribbean

"Hans Zimmer’s music is the stuff of legend," The Piano Guys wrote on their website when they released their "Evolution of Batman" music video in 2013. "There are moments in our lives that we all feel something. Something that says in a whisper deep within us that life is more than superheroes and villains, legendary cars, more than movie theaters and concert halls. Even though we were simply recreating all of these components on the top of a building overlooking the city in the middle of the night, we had one of those moments."

“I have always loved Hans Zimmer’s work,” Stirling said in a statement to Billboard. "There have been several times I've been writing a song and I've thought, 'What would Hans do?' He has a gift for making things sound magical.”
