The South Africa Mormon Newsroom reported Wednesday that all Church members, missionaries, and Church buildings are safe after a tornado ripped through Tembisa, South Africa. This is the second tornado this week to come through the Gauteng province, the other hitting Magaliesburg on July 25.

The Tembisa tornado injured at least 20 people, damaged the Tembisa Hospital, and caused the roof of the Phumulani Mall to collapse. Despite there being three LDS wards in Tembisa, all of the Church's members and buildings are unharmed.

Stake President Ernest Makgomarela shared on Facebook, "I was helping my son with his homework when we heard an incredible noise; we rushed outside to see the tornado moving towards us. Fortunately, it started to change direction and our house was miraculously unharmed."

He adds, “These are even more signs of the times. We are grateful for God’s protection."
