Missionary Serving in Cote d'Ivoire Abidjan West Mission Passes Away

A missionary serving in the Cote d'Ivoire Abidjan West Mission passed away suddenly Thursday evening. 

Elder Spencer Owusu was taken to an emergency room after he reported that he was not feeling well. He passed away shortly after. 

"It is with profound sadness we announce the death of a young missionary serving in the Cote d'Ivoire Abidjan West Mission," Church spokesman Daniel Woodruff said in a statement. "Elder Spencer Owusu, age 24, passed away Thursday evening. He had reported not feeling well and was taken to an emergency room, but the exact cause of death is unknown at this time."

According to the statement, Elder Owusu was from Ghana and had been serving in Cote d'Ivoire since September 2018. 

"We sincerely pray for his parents and loved ones as they mourn his passing and remember his life and service," Woodruff says.
