Mormon Authors Share Family Christ-Centered Christmas Traditions

Whether it's through the Nativity story, service, gifts for the Savior or other traditions, notable members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints share what they do to help keep Jesus in the seasonal celebrations.

The Nativity

Freeman’s family traditions include a song and a short devotional or lesson based around seven figures in a Nativity set — Mary, Joseph, the angel, the shepherd, wise men, the lamb and baby Jesus — along with practical applications of each example.

“Each of them is so unique in what they learned from that moment,” said Freeman, who studied each of the figures and how they came closer to Jesus Christ through their experiences.
