Pacific: Latter-day Saint Family Promotes Literacy
A Mormon mother is using her doctoral research from the University of Canterbury to help students improve their English literacy.Melanie Riwai-Couch and her 12-year-old son Brigham and 10-year-old daughter, Mei, are working in the Wai Study Help program to help Maori students achieve a quality education with free one-on-one tutoring. They’re also working with Ngai Tahu, the local Maori tribe.
