Music and the Spoken Word Commemorates Veterans Day and 150th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s Music and the Spoken Word Veterans Day broadcast will not only honor those who have so nobly served our country but also commemorate the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

The Choir is teaming up with GettyReady, a grassroots initiative that has partnered with the Utah Commission on Civic and Character Education, the Utah State Office of Education and others to provide lessons and resource materials to Utah teachers and students studying American history this year.

“We think it is fitting that we celebrate this historic anniversary of the Gettysburg Address with America's Choir,” said John Adams, cofounder and one of the directors of GettyReady. “Over 100 local community and faith leaders will attend this special broadcast in recognition of the timeless principles of the Gettysburg Address.”
