Nauvoo Event "Disneyland for LDS Church History and Law Geeks"

Walking in the footsteps of his ancestors gave Barney Madsen a better understanding of history of both his church and the law.

A two-day event exploring the legal and historical issues surrounding attempts in the 1840s to extradite Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by the state of Missouri and his use of habeas corpus to remain in Illinois kicked off Monday in Nauvoo with a series of interpretative presentations, tours and an evening speaker.
