New Testament Lesson 27 (KD): Matthew 28

1 Approach These represent the notes I made during my reading of the scriptural text for this lesson. It is not a lesson outline or a lesson plan but really notes about issues and questions that struck me as interesting during my reading. Consequently, the notes do not have a conclusion and very little mention of application. I like to let those things arise while I teach.

II. Lesson Coverage and Structure

* The lesson covers the “resurrection narrative.” I am going to use Matthew as the primary text as I did for both the events of the garden and the crucifixion narrative. This is not a manifestation of a preference for Matthew over the other gospels. Rather it is a manifestation of a preference for continuity in the literary account across these important events.
