Old Mormon Fort offers glimpse into the past

Let’s face it — most people don’t visit Las Vegas to see historic old forts.

Many of you have probably driven past a little piece of history in the middle of town and never even realized what you had missed. After all, it’s located at the northernmost end of Las Vegas Boulevard itself.

On the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Washington Avenue sits Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Park. Only a few remnants of the original fort remain, but large portions have been rebuilt to give visitors and idea of how the early settlement once appeared.
