Ozzy Osbourne Visits Latter-day Saints' Goat Yoga Studio, Opens Up About His Family Life

It was another typical day for Latter-day Saint and Arizona goat yoga studio co-owner April Gould. Well, as typical as it can get for a former American Ninja Warrior and Amazing Race contestant who broke a Guinness World Record and also owns a goat yoga studio.

Yes, it was business as usual for Gould and goats in Gilbert, Arizona—until the phone rang. It was the A&E TV network and they wanted to film a show featuring Gould's goat yoga.

"I asked what the show was and they said, ‘Oh, it’s just a show about a father connecting with his kids.’ So I thought that was very heartwarming. I said, ‘Of course they can come out,'" April says.

But as the time for the filming neared, the network remained vague about who this father and son were. And after asking multiple times, Gould finally found out what the name of this "heartwarming" father-son show was, Ozzy and Jack's World Detour.

"I hung up and right as I hung up, I was thinking about it and I was like, ‘Ozzy and Jack' . . . and I looked it up and sure enough, it was Ozzy Osbourne"

Yes, the mystery father and son stars were none other than renowned rock star Ozzy Osbourne and his son, Jack Osbourne. And they were coming for goat yoga. At first, Gould says she wasn't really sure how the episode would go; this was the rock world's "Prince of Darkness." However, she soon found out that Ozzy wasn't quite what she expected.

Because Jack was away with his newborn baby, Ozzy's daughter Kelly Osbourne came to fill in for the episode. And so with just Gould, her goat yoga studio co-owner Sarah Williams, Ozzy, and Kelly, they began their goat yoga class.

However, with brand new baby goats to feed and play with, "There wasn't a whole lot of yoga going on," Gould says. "Ozzy got on his hands and knees and a goat jumped on his back and he just froze. He just sat there and the goat was climbing all over him. It was pretty funny."

Kelly was particularly impressed by the experience, sharing on Instagram "Yoga + goats = 1 of the best things I have ever done in my life. I fell so in love with this little guy I almost cried when I had to give him back. April if you change your mind you know how to find me and I would give Bugsy the best life/home. #WinkWink 💗🌵"

And, as time went on, Ozzy began sharing a little bit about his personal life, even tearing up when talking about his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and the cancer treatments she endured and offered a prayer for her.

"I was surprised how much of a family guy he was and how genuine and humble he was," Gould says. "He is a performer, and he is very different in the public eye on TV. He has an image that he has to keep up. He would talk to us like anyone else would talk to us, but as soon as the cameras were on he performed like Ozzy Osbourne. He would hold a goat up and go, ‘Ah!’ But as soon as the cameras were off he would pet the goat and was very sweet."

After the goat yoga class, Gould says Ozzy talked with all the boys and men at a drug rehab facility, sharing his own difficult journey to sobriety and offering advice to the young men about finding their own path to recovery.

Ozzy's and Kelly's encounters with goat yoga aired on season three episode two of Ozzy and Jack's World Detour and overall, the experience wasn't what Gould says she imagined.

"We had really good, genuine conversations with them and I left having a whole new outlook on the Osbourne family," Gould says."They are real people with real problems, just like any of us . . . but maybe with a whole lot more rock-and-roll."
