Practice learning from others

Last Sunday a group of us were bouncing around some ideas when an odd thought surfaced. Instead of going on a mission to teach, it might be fun to one day be called on a "learning mission."

You would go out and spend your days absorbing all you could about the people and places, the region and the religions in a given area.

Sometimes we Mormons get so excited about sharing the "good news" we have, we forget that others might have good news for us as well. As members of the church, our "default setting" is often to explain and teach — whether from the pulpit, in classrooms, on home teaching visits or just in casual conversation with people of other faiths.
