Provo votes to sell Hotel Roberts property to LDS Church

The Provo Municipal Council voted Tuesday night in favor of selling the city-owned property at 192 S. University Ave. to the Corporation of the Presiding Bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The property is a vacant lot where the old Hotel Roberts stood. The LDS Church will purchase the property for $500,000. With that sale nearly the entire block of 100 to 200 South and University Avenue to 100 West will be owned by the LDS Church. Only the post office remains.
