SLC man indicted for making threats to Mormons, educators

A Salt Lake City man charged in federal court for allegedly using his Facebook page to threaten to kill members of the LDS church also sent e-mails to Utah State University officials claiming the school should watch out for a workplace shooting reminiscent of Trolley Square, according to an indictment filed in U.S. District Court on Wednesday.

Mark Eric Bayne, 36, is charged with three counts of felony threats in interstate commerce. His arraignment date is set for Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Warner, and he faces up to five years in federal prison for each count if he is convicted.
