Scottsdale police arrest man after break-in at Mormon church

Scottsdale police arrested a man suspected of breaking into a Mormon church on Gold Dust Avenue while being under the influence of alcohol or drugs early Wednesday morning. A woman who lives near the building for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints told the police that she heard glass shatter about 2:15 a.m. and saw someone break into the church, which is in the 6800 block of East Gold Dust Avenue, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.

When officers arrived, they said they saw a man popping in and out of various church exits. Police said that they finally got the man, suspected to be Jacob Jeffrey Schwartz , 20, of Minnesota, to surrender about 4 a.m.
