Sister Susan Bednar grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming, a place where over 122 years ago Apostle Moses Thatcher prophesieda temple would be built.

Now, that prophecy is coming to fruition as the Star Valley Wyoming Temple will be dedicated this Sunday in three sessions.

About this exciting development in her hometown, Sister Bednar wrote for the Rexburg Standard Journal, "I know the people of Star Valley are so excited, they are prepared, and they will serve with all their heart, might, mind and strength. They will not take this blessing for granted. Their present-day legacy of faith will bless generations to come. Of that I am sure!"

Five years ago, when the temple was first announced, Sister Bednar remembers being stunned: "I could not help but think of the wonderful people from the valley who were so deserving and had been so faithful. . . .

"I also could not help but think of ancestors—grandparents and great-grandparents. I have been to the villages in England and Switzerland where they lived. Star Valley was in its infancy when they immigrated to the valley to settle in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I am the recipient of their legacy of faith in Christ and His restored gospel. Their devotion to the gospel and that of others who settled there long ago set a course of steadfastness to covenants that has contributed to this historic moment in time."

As the new temple finally opens, Sister Bednar testifies, "This temple will provide peace, comfort, strength and marvelous blessings to those who choose to be a part of it."
