Snowboarder Torah Bright is one to watch in the 2010 Olympics

It's the day this extraordinary blend of beauty, money and religion will hit the snow in West Vancouver to try to win Australia's first snowboarding medal at a Winter Olympics.

The girl who openly discusses her lifetime commitment to the Mormon church has been a dominant figure in world snowboarding since turning pro at age 14 and is the gold medal favourite for the ladies' halfpipe at the Vancouver Games.

When 22-year-old Bright flies back to Australia next week for a mid-year sabbatical at her home town of Cooma she will do so as the No. 1 women's snowboarder in the world, having won her third straight US Open title and the Winter X Games.
