“I had no money. I could not afford school. In some way, I felt I had to give up on my dream to finish an education.”
Originally from Venezuela, Carolina Galvis moved to the United States on her own at the young age of 11. Growing up, she dreamed of earning a degree and becoming a lawyer, but the financial burden of school made her dream feel impossible.
“Not moving forward with anything in my life was extremely frustrating. Everything that could have gone wrong happened. It was hard! I was emotionally exhausted and spiritually starving.”
Finding a stable job was one of her biggest setbacks. Caught in a cycle of low wages, a lack of opportunity, and unable to escape her financial crisis, Carolina turned to the Lord for comfort and guidance. That’s when she heard about BYU-Pathway Worldwide and knew it was an answer to prayer.
