Between sweeping award shows and traveling the globe for her Reputation Stadium Tour, Taylor Swift manages to find time to connect with her fans through social media. Taylor Swift “stan” (super fan) accounts are common on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter where fans connect through their common love of the pop star.

One devoted fan, Sadie, recently took a break from posting about Swift on Twitter to let her followers know about a more personal part of her life. The 19-year-old Latter-day Saint from Idaho wrote her family’s heartbreaking story and shared it with their GoFundMepage.

She shared how her mom has been in a coma for the past 3 years and her dad stays home full-time to care for her. Sadie is a college student and can only work part-time, so she humbly asked her followers and fellow Swifties to share or donate to the GoFundMe page.

Hey guys. I’m really nervous to post this. Please help if you can and pray for my family. I’m sorry I never said anything sooner and that I’m suddenly asking for help. I love you guys so much. https://t.co/Jww8qR7Xqu pic.twitter.com/3cXm2o47lg — Sadie 🍁 (@swiftsinautumn) October 2, 2018

“I’m happy to help take care of her and I’m happy to provide for my family, but I am 19 and everything is really hard right now. I feel like I’ve reached my breaking point,” she wrote.

“Anything would help and I would be eternally grateful. Please . . . pray for my family. And especially my mom to recover.” She mentioned that her mom went into the coma just two days before Sadie attended Swift’s 1989 world tour. She gives credit to the singer for helping her through this tough time saying, “I’m grateful to Taylor for keeping me afloat through it all.” Sadie is even wearing a shirt with Swift’s face on it in the GoFundMe main photo.

Swift miraculously saw Sadie’s plea for help and made a generous donation of $15,500 on the family’s GoFundMe page. She wrote, “Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift” (Meredith and Olivia are Swift’s cats).

When Sadie posted a screenshot of the donation on Twitter, responses of excitement, love, and support from fellow Swifties flooded her feed. The generous donation from Swift also made more people aware of the family’s situation, and people have donated over the past couple of days to help Sadie’s family during this difficult time.

Sadie was understandably thrilled when she saw the donation and has been excitedly sharing tweets about it over the past couple of days. Her prayers were answered in the sweetest, most meaningful way possible.

Sadie wrote how grateful she was for the donation in a heartfelt Facebook post. “I wish that I could express how much it means to me that ANYONE has helped my family over the years, let alone Taylor. She is the light at the end of the tunnel and is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. … She is a miracle in herself. She just gave my family exactly what we need to carry on.” This is such a touching example of how Heavenly Father answers prayers through others and knows each of us individually.
