Temple plan for Tijuana is inspired

If you want an example of inspiration at work in the church, look no further than the decision to build an LDS temple in tempestuous Tijuana, Mexico. If anyone needs a beaming beacon on hope, it's the good souls on the Mexican border. But more than that, the plan to build a temple there shows a courageous commitment by the church to take gospel blessings to those who need them most. Like Las Vegas, Tijuana has suffered over the years from a one-sided image. Say Tijuana and people think "tacky," "tawdry" and "promiscuous." And those elements can be found. But so can salt-of-the-earth souls whose spirits have been burnished by adversity. I've been there enough to know.
