Aztec fans are ready for BYU.
Radiating throughout Viejas Arena the past couple of weeks, one of the loudest chants from the crowd has been “We want Jimmer! We want Jimmer!”
The natural spirit of competition for a nationally anticipated top-10 matchup has spread from harmless chanting to jabs at Fredette, which includes taunting his girlfriend on Facebook and making shirts with sexual innuendos.
“They are trying to do a lot of different stuff ... to try to get into my head,” Fredette said.
For several months, SDSU has been analyzing Fredette’s style of play in hopes of finding a way to stop him when BYU takes its visit to Viejas Arena. They came up with multiple ways to try and get in his head and mentally shake him up.
