Updates to Search Effort for Missing Provo RM Elizabeth Salgado

21343

The search for missing Provo woman and recently returned missionary Elizabeth Elena Salgado continues.

Last week, the original reward of $5,000 was upped to $15,000. The Provo Police explained that the extra money came from two donations, one from a private individual and the other from a local company, each in the amount of $5,000.

Another event will be held tomorrow from 4-9pm at Kiwanis Park in Provo. The event organizer, Brianna Goodale, explains, "In the last few weeks, I have heard a lot about Elizabeth Salgado, who went missing in Provo April 16th. My brother, his wife, and I, have never met her, but have felt a desire to help in spreading the word about her and finding her."

At the event, participants will pass out over 25,000 fliers (donated by local printers) to raise awareness about Salgado's disappearance. You can RSVP on Facebook

Additionally, a GoFundMe account has been set up "to assist in the search and to help the family join the efforts in Utah." Many of Salgado's family members, including her parents who joined the search, are from Mexico and cannot afford extended travel to the United States. So far the account has raised $5,231 of its $20,000 goal.

If you have any information about Elizabeth, please contact the Provo Police Department at 801-852-6210.
