Chick-fil-A Holding Fundraiser for LDS Man Who Suffered Two Tragedies in One Week

A Chick-fil-A in Sugar House, Utah, is doing a good turn for an LDS man who had his leg amputated and whose father passed away in the same week.

Charlton Anderson, a team member at the Sugar House Chik-fil-A, recently had bypass surgery for a blood clot located in a major artery in his right leg.

Unfortunately, doctors had to amputate Anderson's leg just below the knee. A few days later, Carlton's father passed away from brain cancer.

Carlton did not have health insurance, and, to help his family with medical expenses, the Chik-fil-A he works at is stepping in to help by donating a portion of their sales to Carlton's family on Jan. 25. As a post on the Carlton Anderson Fundraiser Facebook page reads:

"Please keep the Andersons in your thoughts and prayers. We are hoping to raise funds to help with medical expenses since Carlton did not have medical insurance and to help ease the burden this amazing family is going through. If you’d like to help us support them you can come in to Chick-fil-A Sugar House any time on January 25, 2017, for a delicious meal or to make a donation. We are donating 20% of all sales for the entire day."

The Sugar House Chick-fil-A is located at 1206 E. 2100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84106.
