Vote expected on Huntsman nomination Tuesday

A vote is expected Tuesday afternoon on the nomination of Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman as the U.S. Ambassador to China.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee is slated to vote around 12:30 p.m. MDT. Huntsman took few hard questions during his confirmation hearing two weeks ago and is expected to breeze through Tuesday's vote. A vote in the full Senate is likely before the end of the week.

Meanwhile, the Deseret News reports Huntsman's successor, Gary Herbert, has come to a decision on who will be his lieutenant governor. His transition director, Jason Perry, says Herbert is working out the final details.
