Watch: LDS Artist Camille Nelson Plays Beautiful Lullaby She Wrote After the Paris Attacks

42634.jpg

After the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015, LDS artist Camille Nelson felt inspired to create a beautiful lullaby as a way to offer peace. "Any lullaby we hear always comforts. It always offers peace," Nelson says in a video below. "It was a way to offer peace not only to Paris but to all those affected by acts of terrorism throughout the world."

That peace is still needed, and you can listen to Camille's "Paris Lullaby," as well as a beautiful rendition of "Nearer My God to Thee," in the Mormon Channel Studio's video below:

"Nearer, My God, to Thee" and "Paris Lullaby" - Camille Nelson

Camille Nelson tells Mormon Channel Studio that her love for music came from her parents, who encouraged each of their children to sing and learn instruments. Even today, Camille still gets together with her grown siblings, including her brother Steven Sharp Nelson of The Piano Guys, to make music.

Love Camille Nelson's music? Check our her CD Lead Me Home.

There is nothing like home. Home is where love is and where relationships grow. The greatest gifts we take from this life are our relationships—namely, our relationship with God who leads us in a way so we can make it back to our heavenly home to live with Him. We develop our relationship with God through various means—including prayer, reading scriptures, and music. This album includes emotive, reminiscent, peaceful melodies to bring us nearer to God.

Blending elements of folk, classical, bluegrass, and new-age music, Lead Me Home features relaxed, intricate acoustic guitar melodies of both traditional and original hymns accompanied by a string ensemble with guest artists, including Steven Sharp Nelson of The Piano Guys, Alex Sharpe (formerly of Celtic Woman), and Ryan Shupe of Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband.
